'Bikolpo' in Bengali means 'alternative'. For me, now is an exciting time of seeking alternatives, of breaking personal stereotypes and of self-renewal. I want to 'de-program' myself of all given norms and be as real as I can and live as close to my real self. I am using "NearBikolpo" as a personal journal to trace my thoughts as I take this journey to discover my unknown, unrealized, untraversed side. Nearbikolpo would bear the footprints as I slowly 'near my bikolpo'.

Got rid of my hair. Was planning a summer cut anyway. Thought - "why not just grow some new crop?". Was apprehensive initially. But finally gave in to the 'josh' of doing something that I've never done and the lure of 'tak matha' experience!
Visited Nagarjuna Konda, a Buddhist site and paid a fitting tribute to my shaven head!!
Last one month did not show much change except the hair (or the lack of it). I am the same person but a little more conscious about my weakness and inabilities. Is mind a thing to control or is it to let go free seeking whatever comes the way - the good, the bad, the beautiful, the ugly, the pious, the sinful; accept everything without bias? I think both control and let go ultimately aim for the same results - being unbiased, being unattached and yet living the emotions completely, living the moments consciously, deliberately and not like a programmed mass of nerves with automated responses to daily stimulus.
Good for people to know.
